The Cisco vEdge Cloud Router is a virtual appliance that can be deployed in a variety of private, public, and hybrid cloud computing environments. All major hypervisor platforms are supported. The Cisco vEdge Cloud Router uses Intel DPDK infrastructure to help ensure it performs optimally on x86. The software is also capable of using most of Intel's AES-NI cryptographic offload technology. When the AES encryption algorithm is used, AES-NI can provide optimized IP security (IPsec) performance.
