What is AWS Marketplace China?

AWS Marketplace is a curated digital catalog that makes it easy for customers to find, buy, deploy, and manage the software from independent software vendors that customers need to build solutions and run their businesses. AWS Marketplace includes thousands of software listings from popular categories such as security, networking, storage, machine learning, business intelligence, database, and DevOps. AWS Marketplace also simplifies software licensing and procurement with flexible pricing options and multiple deployment methods.

AWS Marketplace China is a standalone digital online category operated by Ningxia Western Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd. (NWCD). It covers products in the AWS China (Beijing) Region and AWS China (Ningxia) Region. Please check AWS Services in China for feature differences applicable to AWS Marketplace China.

You can use AWS Marketplace China as a buyer, a seller, or both. You must have an AWS China account to use AWS Marketplace China. A seller can be an independent software vendor (ISV) or a value-added reseller that has software that works with AWS products and services. In accordance with Chinese regulations, you must be a business entity registered in Mainland China to sell your products through AWS Marketplace China.

Every product in AWS Marketplace goes through a curation process. When the seller submits a product in AWS Marketplace, they define the price of the product as well as the terms and conditions of use. The product's listing page can have one or more offerings for the product. When a customer subscribes to a product offering, they agree to the pricing and terms and conditions set for the offer. Currently, AWS Marketplace China supports free and bring-your-own-license (BYOL) Amazon Machine Image (AMI) products.

Using AWS Marketplace China as a buyer

As a buyer, you can visit AWS Marketplace China to search, filter, and navigate to a product that runs on AWS services. Only free and BYOL AMIs are supported through AWS Marketplace China now. When you choose an AMI product, you are taken to the product details page. The page has information about the product, pricing, usage, support, and product reviews. To subscribe to the product, you log in to your AWS account and are taken to a subscription page that has the end user license agreement (EULA), terms and conditions of usage, and any options available for customizing your subscription.

Once the subscription is processed, you can configure fulfillment options, software versions and regions you want to use the product on, and then launch the product. You can also find, launch and cancel your products through AWS Marketplace Subscription console.
