StarRocks
Overview
Starrocks is a next-generation high-speed full-scene MPP database. StarRocks fully absorbed the excellent research results of relational OLAP databases and distributed storage systems in the big data era, further improved optimization and upgraded the architecture on the basis of industry practice, and added many new functions, forming a new enterprise-level product. StarRocks is committed to building a high-speed unified analysis experience that satisfies various data analysis scenarios for enterprise users, supports multiple data models (detailed model, aggregation model, update model), multiple import methods (batch and real-time), and can be integrated and connected to various existing systems (Spark, Flink, Hive, ElasticSearch). StarRocks is compatible with the MySQL protocol, and you can use the MySQL client and commonly used BI tools to connect Starrocks to perform data analysis. StarRocks uses a distributed architecture where data tables are divided horizontally and stored in multiple copies. The cluster scale can be flexibly scaled, and can support 10PB level data analysis; supports MPP frameworks to accelerate computation in parallel; supports multiple copies and has elastic fault tolerance. StarRocks uses a relational model, uses strict data types and columnar storage engines, reduces read/write amplification through coding and compression technology; uses vectorized execution to fully exploit the parallel computing capabilities of multi-core CPUs, thereby significantly improving query performance.
Highlights

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
Release date: December 20, 2021
New feature Implementing global runtime filters can support runtime filters for shuffle joins. CBO Planner is enabled by default, improving functions such as colocated join/ bucket shuffle/ statistics. [Experimental Feature] Release Primary Key Model (Primary Key): In order to better support the realtime/frequent update function, StarRocks has added a table type: primary key model. This model supports Stream Load, Broker Load, Routine Load, and JSON import, and also provides tools for synchronizing MySQL data in seconds based on Flink-CDC. [Experimental feature] Added an external writing function. Data can be written to a table in another StarRocks cluster by external means to solve read/write separation requirements and provide better resource isolation.
Improvements The disk balance algorithm is optimized, and data balancing can be performed automatically after adding more disks on a stand-alone computer. For details of the update, see: StarRocks 1.19 Release Notes - StarRocks Community Forum/Release Notes - StarRocks Database Forum

Usage instructions
Instructions for use: Access the web management interface through a browser https://PublicIP:19321即 可进行集群的安装部署,安装第一步需要配置Mysql库表用于存储Manager的信息,Mysql的默认用户为root,密码为实例的id,可自行更改 . If you need to link to the operating system via ssh, the default username is “ec2-user”. The cluster is installed under the “starrocks” user. Multiple nodes can be added to the cluster during installation. Note that all deployment nodes must be enabled for password-free SSH login. After the installation and deployment is complete, the login password will be prompted. If not prompted due to network reasons, please SSH to the instance and execute sudo grep -r “temporary password” /home/starrocks/starrocks-manager-20220318/center/log/web/ to obtain the Starrocks login password. Log in with the “root” user and password, follow the prompts to contact the relevant personnel to sign a license, and after entering the license, you can use the cluster. After the root user logs in, please change the root user password as soon as possible. Connect to StarRocks via “mysql-h127.0.0.1 -uroot -p -p9030” and change the password via “ALTER USER 'root' IDENTIFIED BY 'NEW PASSWORD';” For detailed installation steps, please refer to the official website: https://docs.starrocks.com/zh-cn/main/administration/Deployment# 安装部署starrocks
