IBM HashiCorp Vault
Overview
HashiCorp Vault is an industry-leading secrets and sensitive data management platform. It is identity-centric and provides applications, services, and users with secure storage and controlled access to sensitive data (such as API keys, passwords, database credentials, certificates, encryption keys), and provides encryption as a service (encryption as a service). Suitable for multicloud/ hybrid cloud scenarios. This image is optimized for the Amazon Web Services environment, comes pre-installed with Vault and its dependencies, and supports rapid deployment on Amazon EC2 without the need to build from scratch. Suitable for cloud-native, hybrid cloud, and DevOps scenarios, it helps enterprises eliminate hard-coded credentials, automate key rotation, and enable auditable Zero Trust (Zero Trust) access. Core Competencies: • Dynamic key generation: Generate database credentials, cloud access keys, and service tokens as needed, eliminating hard-coded credentials • Encryption as a Service: All stored data is encrypted with industry-standard encryption algorithms before being written • Fine-grained identity-based access control: Policy-based ensures that users and apps only have access to their authorized content • Confidential lifecycle management: manage leases, automatically expire and release keys • Audit and compliance: Detailed audit logs support compliance and traceability • Cloud Native Deployment: Seamlessly integrates with VPC, IAM roles, and cloud-native workflows
Highlights
- Vault provides enterprises with an identity-based security mechanism that automatically authenticates and authorizes access to confidential information and other sensitive data across users, machines, services, and AI agents (AI agents).
- All data stored in the Vault is encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms before being written to persistent storage.
- Vault manages the entire life cycle of the key through the length of the lease, so that the key automatically expires after a set period of time.
