Overview
As part of Cisco's cloud connectivity products, the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) version of the Cisco® Catalyst® 8000 V Cloud Routing Software (Catalyst 8000 V) provides maximum performance for virtual enterprise-grade networking services and VPNs in the Amazon Web Services cloud. This AMI supports all types of Catalyst 8000 V (C8000V) DNA licenses and uses high-performance versions of Amazon Web Services t3, c5, and c6in instances with direct I/O paths for higher and more consistent SDWAN and IPsec performance. The C8000V is a full-featured Cisco IOS XE router that enables enterprise IT to deploy enterprise-grade networking services within Amazon Web Services that are identical to those used for local networks. It supports enterprise-grade routing, VPN, firewall, high availability, IP SLA, AVC, WAN Opt, etc. The familiar IOS XE CLI and RESTful API ensure easy deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and service orchestration. An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Instructions for use: Complete these steps to launch the Catalyst 8000 V (C8000V) AMI:
- Find the C8000V product page by searching “” in the Amazon Web Services Marketplace. C8000V
- On the C8000V product page, click the “Continue” button.
- Complete the deployment of the C8000V AMI using the “Launch with EC2 Console” tab. Select the correct version and region, then click the “Launch with EC2 Console” button.
- The Launch Instance Wizard will open. Select the desired instance type and click Next.
- Select your desired VPC environment in the “Network” drop-down menu.
- Select the desired IP subnet for the first C8000V network interface in the Subnet drop-down menu.
- Add any additional network interfaces and select the appropriate subnets for each interface to connect.
- Click “Review and Launch” and check if the information is correct.
- If the information is correct, click Launch and select an existing key pair for authentication, or create a new one. If you create a key pair, be sure to download and save the private key.
- Click “Launch Instance”.
- In the Amazon Web Services console, wait for your instance to indicate a “running” status. After that, it may take a few moments before you can connect to the C8000V instance. Connect to your instance using an SSH client and select or create a private SSH key earlier in these steps. Example: ssh -i mykeypair.pem ec2-user@myhostname.compute-1.amazonaws.com .
