The Public Cloud module provides a range of tools that enable you to create and manage cloud images from the command line on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. *Please note - there is a significant difference between SLES and SLES for SAP Applications. Please carefully evaluate it based on your business needs. Once the AMI is deployed, changing the operating system type will require deploying the new AMI and reinstalling the application.
The following features critical to running SAP Workload are only available in SLES for SAP applications, but are not available in regular SLES: 3-year Extended Service Pack Overlay Support (ESPOS), SLES High Availability Extension (Pacemaker Framework), NetWeaver High Availability Solution, S/4HANA&HANA system replication, continuous tuning agent (saptune), real-time kernel patching, lifecycle management module, work Load memory protection. Each adds significant value to a successful, high-performance SAP environment.
