Overview
The next generation wireless controller (C9800-CL-K9) combines the benefits and flexibility of the Amazon Web Services public cloud with the customization and rich functionality customers usually get in an on-premise deployment. As part of the Cisco cloud product portfolio, the Catalyst 9800-CL wireless controller provides high-speed, always-on, and secure wireless services with advantageous features such as zero-touch AP setup, high availability, application visibility, and control. The C9800-CL-K9 AMI uses open Cisco IOS XE software to support model-driven programmability, flow control telemetry, and patching. The Cisco Catalyst 9800-CL wireless controller supports the following deployment scenarios in this release: The wireless controller is available in an Amazon Web Services virtual private network (VPC) connected to the customer's corporate network via a hosted VPN. VPN can be terminated on Amazon Gateway routers or Cisco CSR. The deployment mode is Flex Central authentication and local exchange of IPv4 and IPv6 clients, falling back to local authentication.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Please follow the steps below to launch it:
- During the instantiation process, you will be prompted to select: a) The desired Amazon Web Services region. b) VPC (custom or default): Where the C9800-CL is installed. c) IP subnet required for the C9800-CL management/wireless management interface. d) Security groups associated with the VPC. e) Key pair for the SSH connection. Click “View and Launch” and check if the information is correct.
- Click Launch Instance.
- Go to Amazon Web Services Console > EC2 Service and wait for your instance to indicate a “running” status. After that, it takes a few minutes to connect to the C9800-CL instance.
- Connect to the IP address assigned to the C9800-CL instance and use the WebUI wizard for initial configuration and setup.
- Alternatively, use an SSH client to connect to your instance and provide the dedicated SSH key you chose during installation or the credentials you defined. Example: ssh -i mykeypair.pem ec2-user @ <实例的IP>
- Once SSH is connected, you should be at the IOS XE command prompt on the C9800-CL. Now you can start configuring the instance.
