Secure remote access to AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

Provide secure access to remote employees and partners to AWS VPC private applications.

Businesses are migrating their internal applications to the AWS cloud to improve agility and scalability. However, many businesses struggle to make these applications accessible in the VPC to mobile employees and partners.

VPN can be used to securely extend the VPC over the Internet, effectively making other Internet-connected locations and devices part of the VPC. Once part of the VPC, the applications hosted in the VPC are accessible to all authorized and authenticated users.

Virtual private network (VPN)

OpenVPN Access Server is a set of installation and configuration tools that come in one package that simplifies the rapid deployment of a VPN remote access solution. At its core it is based on the popular OpenVPN open source software project, and maintains compatibility with it, making the deployed VPN immediately compatible with OpenVPN client software across multiple platforms and devices.

With OpenVPN Access Server, businesses can:

  • Deploy an Amazon EC2 OpenVPN Access Server instance on VPC to provide VPN access to your private services.
  • Configure fine-tuned access controls to allow access to only authorized services.
  • Easily distribute VPN clients and connection profiles directly from the OpenVPN Access Server.
  • Give users access VPC services using devices running Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows.
